Cremation
Cremation funerals are considerably cheaper than a burial and whilst the cost of cremations in the Auckland area does not vary much, the price of a burial plot varies dramatically, depending on the area. It is important to consider that whilst the cremation is cheaper, there is still the issue of a final resting place for the ashes, and if interment is desired, then a price for doing this should be obtained from the funeral directors, i.e. the cost of the ash plot, the digging fee and the price of a plaque or headstone, dependant upon the area within the cemetery and its specific restrictions.
