Who We Support

The SPCA and Breast Cancer Network are two organizations very close to the heart of Manning Funerals, and in acknowledgement of this, Manning Funerals donates $50 from every funeral conducted to either the Breast Cancer Network, or the Auckland SPCA. 

A deep love of animals was the catalyst for supporting the SPCA, and having had her own mother, and many other women in her family, die from breast cancer, it seemed appropriate that Martha-Louise would nominate the Breast Cancer Network as another organization she would like to support. This organization supports women living with breast cancer.  

Ironically, in August 2010, Martha-Louise was also diagnosed with early stage breast cancer which involved major surgery followed by five weeks of radiotherapy. “This was an extremely frightening and challenging time for me.  After all, I was used to caring for people who had eventually lost their battle, I certainly never envisaged myself being a patient, but then who does? This was a time of so many negative emotions on my part, but also an opportunity to marvel at the strength, courage and determination of others before me, who fought their cancer in the hope of being there for their children.   

I sincerely hope that this small donation from Manning Funerals makes a difference to those who cannot speak for themselves and that one day, huge medical advances will be made in the treatment of cancer”.
